Figueroa, Paulus, Moeder, Frazier nab league honors

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The Mount Mercy quartet of Jeremy Figueroa, Evan Paulus, Kyle Moeder, and Drake Frazier garnered Heart of America Athletic Conference honors by a vote of league baseball coaches.

Figueroa and Paulus were first-team all-conference selections at second base and third base, respectively. Figueroa led the Mustangs with a .392 batting average and 21 stolen bases. The junior also ranked second on the squad in home runs (5), was third in doubles (10), and drove in 25 runs.

Paulus was Mount Mercy's top RBI man, driving in 36 runs, and shared the team lead with six homers. The senior also totaled nine doubles and hit .367, which ranked third on the squad.

Moeder, a senior shortstop, received honorable mention after batting .301 with a pair of home runs, 11 doubles, three triples, and 32 runs batted in.

Frazier was named to the Heart Gold Glove Team after another terrific season in center field. In 49 games, the junior didn't commit an error in 104 chances and recorded three assists.
