Mustangs Season Ends in Loss to Central Methodist

FAYETTE, Mo. - The Mustang men's basketball team's 2024-25 campaign came to a close, falling to Central Methodist, 92-75.

The Mustangs (4-24, 3-21 Heart) were led by Jaxson Fried, who led all scorers with 24 points while playing all 40 minutes. He would be joined in double figures by Ahmad Ingram and Caden Schroeder, each scoring 10 points. Jackson Tegeler would end his season with six points.

The Eagles (15-13, 12-12 Heart) saw five players in double figures, including three starters. Bol Tong led the squad with 21 points, while Marcus Anthony and Mario Fantina scored 18 and 12 respectively. Kevin James and Brandon Tchouya would join the trio of starters in double figures, adding on 17 and 16 points.

The story of the game would be the defense of Central Methodist, forcing 17 Mustang turnovers, turning that into six points. Despite the Mustangs shooting 45.5% from the floor, the Eagles would best that with 52.2%. The Mustangs would end the game with the edge in not only rebounds (37-34), but also in second chance points, outmatching the Eagles, 8-2.

The Msutangs season comes to a close, as the team will look to rebuild for the 2025 campaign, starting next fall.
