Women second, men sixth at Team Match Games; three Mustangs make all-tournament teams
FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. — The top-ranked Mount Mercy women's bowling squad was runner-up while the 16th-ranked Mustang men finished sixth at this weekend's Tier 1 event, the National Collegiate Team Match Games. Megan Kolberg, Mackenzie Ullian, and Brandon Bohn received all-tournament nods for Mount Mercy.
Wichita State topped the men's standings with 10,915 pins. Webber International came next with a total pinball of 10,874 and St. Ambrose at 10,707. McKendree (10,578) was fourth, SCAD-Savannah (10,428) fifth, and Mount Mercy (10,398) sixth. The Mustangs were only a few pins away from having the top individual on the men's side. Bohn nabbed another all-tournament award, taking second place with 1,415 pins and a 235.8 average. Spencer Robarge of Wichita State ended up at the top with 1,475 pins and a 245.8 mark.
Host McKendree finished in the top spot on the women's side with 10,461 pins while Mount Mercy was next with a total pinfall of 10,154. Rounding out the top five were Wichita State (10,131), Webber International (9,732), and Lindenwood (9,632). Kolberg was the top individual with 1,368 pins over six games for a 228 average. Ullian placed fifth with a total of 1,275 pins.
After a weekend off, Mount Mercy will return to the lanes at the Warhawk Open on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3-4, in Addison, Ill.
