Mount Mercy sixth at William Woods Fall Invite
FULTON, Mo. - Johan Wigertz and individual, Dominic McCain led Mount Mercy, as both carded 148 to tie for 15th place at the William Woods Fall Invite earlier today and yesterday at Tanglewood Golf Course.
Mount Mercy jumped up a spot from round one to round two to finish sixth with a team score of 616 (309-307). Just three strokes separated the top three schools. Central Methodist (Mo.) (287-292=579) took first and edged out Columbia (Mo.) (292-288=580) and William Woods (Mo.) (292-289) for second and third respectively. Williams Baptist (Ark.) was fourth (308-287=595) and William Woods "B" was fifth (299-301=600).
Joining Wigertz and McCain in the top 25 was Junn Yong who finished 22nd (77-74=151). Kaleb Hagge tied for 28th (74-80=154), Cole Eberly tied for 41st (85-78=163), and Colten Mishek was 49th (86-81=167). Also competing for Mount Mercy as an individual was Miguel Crespin who finished tied for 34th (79-78=157).
The Mustangs will be back on the links in a week as they travel to Silvis, Ill. for the Mid-West Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 26-27 being played at TPC Deere Run.
