Mustangs finish atop leaderboard
NIOBRARA, Neb. - With the final round of the Tatanka Spring Invite being cancelled due to unfavorable weather conditions, the Mount Mercy men's golf team took home the team title after leading through 18 holes in round one. The Mustangs shot 309, holding off Briar Cliff and Dordt by one stroke at the Tatanka Golf Club on Friday.
Corbin Borelli, Dylan Tan, and Kaleb Hagge each fired 77 (+5) to pace Mount Mercy and finish tied for 3rd. Junn Yong and Grant Case both tied for 10th with a score of 78. Also competing for the Mustangs as an individual was Colten Mishek who shot 80 and tied for 20th. All six of Mount Mercy's golfers finished in the top third of the field of 68.
Mount Mercy hosts their home meet, the Verhille Invitational, on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 18-19, which is being played at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City. Tee time begin at 10:00 am.
