Mustang Men's Golf Returns to the Course

LAKE OZARK, Mo. - The Mount Mercy men's golf team returned to the course, hosting the Osage National Spring Invite in Missouri. Round one on Monday was called off due to rain, and the tournament consisted of one 18 hole round on Tuesday.

Theo Baker led the team in scoring, ending the tournament in a tie for fifth place, shooting a three-over 75. Baker started his round with a bogey before recording a pair of pars, as well as carding two birdies on the front nine. Baker would end his round with two birdies on his final four holes.

Not far behind Baker was Ziwen Zhong and Yong Junn, who each carded scores of eight-over 80. Both Zhong and Junn would card six-over scores on the front nine, followed by two-over scores on the back, highlighted by a Zhong birdie on the par-three 13th. Behind them was Frederick Walker, who carded a score of 10-over 82, good for a tie for 43rd. Walker would record a birdie on the par-five 16 en route to a back nine score of 42.

The final golfer was Lincoln Beckett, who carded a score of 15-over 87. Beckett's back nine score was three shots better than his front nine, shooting a six-over on the back half of the course.

The Mustangs will return to the course in Manhattan, Kansas for the Midwest Spring Invitational on Monday, April 8.
