Mustangs in Fourth at Midwest Spring Invite
MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Mustang men's golf team teed off the week at the Midwest Spring Invite, ending day one in fourth place out of 15 teams following two solid rounds.
Yong Junn had two phenomenal rounds, ending at even par in both rounds. Junn would record eight pars followed by one birdie on the front nine, and three birdies on the back nine with three bogeys to end the first round at even par. In his second round, he would fire off a birdie and a bogey in each round, with seven pars on both the front and back nine for a second consecutive even par round, good for a tie for eighth.
Theo Baker excelled during the first round, firing a one-under score of 71. Baker would rattle off two birdies and a bogey on the front nine, and went even par on the back nine with a pair of birdies, ending the opening round at one-under. In round two, Baker fired a three-over on the front nine, and fired off three birdies on the back nine en route to a final score of one-over, with a two round total of one over, good for a tie for 11th.
Dominic McCain saw his second round score improve over his first round, ending his day in a tie for 19th. McCain fired off a first round score of five over, followed by a second round score of one under, highlighted by three straight birdies to start the back nine. Dylan Tan would end with a tie for 55th, after firing a first day total of 15 over, followed by Lincoln Beckett with a first day total of 18 over, good for a tie for 62nd.
The Mustangs will round out the tournament in Manhattan on Tuesday.
