Mustangs End First Tournament in Fifth

NEWTON, Kan. - The MMU men's golf team rounded out their first tournament of the year, finishing the Mid-South Classic in fifth place overall.

Junn Yong ended in fifth place overall, shooting a team best four-under. Yong capped off his tournament by shooting a two-under third round. The second Mustang in red figures was Theo Baker, ending his tournament as the second Mustang in the top-10 at eighth, shooting two-under. Baker would cap off his tournament with a one-over 73 in his final round.

Gannon Hall and Frank Haege round out the Mustang scoring numbers, ending in 33rd and 37th respectively, shooting seven-over and eight-over. Hall would have a remarkable final round, shooting a two-under score, which was a four-shot improvement from the second round on Tuesday. Haege would end his tournament with a three-over round.

The Mustangs will next compete at the Mustang Fall Championship at Hunters Ridge in Cedar Rapids this upcoming weekend.
