Mustangs Clinch Tournament Victory at Mustang Fall Championship

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Following a stellar first round, the Mount Mercy men's golf team wouldn't relinquish their lead, taking home the top spot at the Mustang Fall Championship.

Theo Baker was the tournament's overall winner, shooting a tournament-best six-under. Baker would fire off two below-par rounds, with a two-under on Sunday's final round. Baker would card three birdies on his front nine to go along with one on the back. Baker would also fire off six straight pars on the back nine.

The second Mustang in red figures was Junn Yong, ending his tournament at two-under. Yong shot a one-over front nine, before bouncing back with a pair of birdies on the back to shoot an even par total of 72. The third Mustang was Ziwen Zhong, who shot one-over for his tournament. Zhong carded six pars on the front, while also recording two birdies on the back nine.

Frank Haege and Gannon Hall each ended their tournaments at six-over, good for a tie for 19th. Haege would shoot a two-under 70 in his final round, carding three birdies on the back nine to improve his tournament by two shots.

The Mustangs will next compete at the NAIA National Preview match, taking place at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois on September 23.
