Mustangs Top Leaderboard on Day One of NAIA National Preview
SILVIS, Ill. - Three Mustangs cracked the top-10 as the MMU men's golf team topped the leaderboard on day one of the NAIA National Preview at TPC Deere Run.
Theo Baker led all golfers in the field on Monday, firing the lone round under par at one-under. Baker carded five consecutive pars on the front nine to go along with a birdie, while firing four birdies on the back nine. Baker would shoot two-over on the front, while shooting three-under on the back.
In a tie for second place was Junn Yong, who carded an even par round. Yong carded three birdies on the front nine to shoot one-under, while firing two more birdies on the back, shooting even par. Gannon Hall was not far behind, shooting a one-over round. Hall could not have been more consistent on Monday, firing off 15 pars in 18 holes played.
Rounding out the scoring on day one was Ziwen Zhong at six-over. Zhong carded a birdie on the back while firing off 12 pars. Just outside the scoring total was Frederick Walker at seven-over. Walker ended his day with a pair of birdies.
The Mustangs will be back on the course Tuesday at TPC Deere Run for day two of the NAIA National Preview.
