Mustangs Place Three in Top-15, Finish Third at Pioneer Prairie Classic
ANDOVER, Kan. - Three Mount Mercy golfers placed in the top-15 on Tuesday as the team rounded out the Pioneer Prairie Classic, and the team placed third.
Junn Yong finished first on the team and in a tie for fourth overall, shooting a six-over. Yong shot a three-over on Tuesday, ending his round with a pair of birdies. Gannon Hall and Ziwen Zhong each finished in a tie for 12th, shooting scores of 10-over. Both golfers would birdie the par five 17th, as four of the five varsity Mustangs would birdie the hole.
Theo Baker would round out the countable scores, firing a tournament score of 16-over. Baker would birdie the fifth and par the remainder of his opening nine holes, while being the fourth golfer to birdie the 17th. Rounding out the varsity Mustangs is Frank Haege, who ended at 21-over for his tournament. Haege would shoot a third round score of 12-over 83.
The Mustangs will return to the course next week at the Virginia McCoy Fall Invitational in Kansas City.
