Men's Golf Ends Heart Preview in Second

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Mustang men's golf team placed second on the final day of the Heart Fall Preview, ending with a team score of 612 over two rounds.

MidAmerica Nazarene won the event with a score of nine-over, as the Pioneers would shoot even par during the final round. The Pioneers had all five golfers place in the top-10 to secure their victory. The Mustangs would end 27 shots behind the Pioneers to take second place, while holding leads over Missouri Valley and Park to finish second.

The Mustangs had three golfers tie for ninth overall, as Junn Yong, Frederick Walker, and Theo Baker each finished at eight-over par, with Walker and Baker shooting final round scores of five-over 77, while Yong fired a final round 75, good for three over. Baker and Walker would card four birdies over their final rounds, and Yong would card three in his final round.

Behind the top three for the Mustangs was Gannon Hall, who fired the final countable score at six-over for his final round. Hall fired off six pars on his front nine while carding a pair of birdies on the back. Ziwen Zhong finished just outside the final round countable scores at seven-over, ending his tournament in 20th at 13-over.

The Mustangs will take the winter off and will look ahead to the spring season.
