Mustangs Place Third at Missouri Valley Invite

MARSHALL, Mo. — Mount Mercy University completed the Missouri Valley Spring Invitational with notable performances, as Wil Sigwarth finished fifth with a final score of 4-under-par, and Frank Haege tied for 11th at even par.

In a tournament full of low scores, Missouri Valley won their home tournament at 28 under par for the tournament, while William Woods finished five shots back at 23 under. The Mustangs were a distant third at eight over, while Baker finished in fourth at 10 over.

Individually, William Woods' Spencer Worley captured the title at 15 under par for the tournament, while Felipe Suarez of Missouri Valley placed second at 13 under par.

Mount Mercy's Sigwarth delivered a strong performance at the Missouri Valley College Spring Invitational, finishing fifth with an impressive 4-under par. Sigwarth's second round was particularly noteworthy, as he posted a 5-under score, which helped him climb the leaderboard. Haege also showcased consistency, tying for 11th place with an even-par final score. Haege's opening round of 3-under set a solid foundation for his overall performance.

Andrew Brown and Lincoln Beckett contributed to the Mustangs' efforts, securing ties for 22nd and 25th places, respectively. Brown maintained steady play with even-par scores in the first two rounds before a challenging final round of 6-over. Beckett had a consistent showing, opening with a 1-over and concluding with a final score of 7-over. Zephyr Zhong rounded out the Mustangs' lineup, ending in 45th place with a cumulative score of 15-over.

The Mustangs will next hit the course at the Heart of America Championships, starting on April 27, in Smithville, Mo.
