PARKVILLE, Mo. -- The Mount Mercy men's soccer team remained unbeaten on the road this season after a 2-0 victory over Park in a Heart of America Athletic Conference game Saturday afternoon at Julian Field.
The Mustangs moved to 5-1-3 overall and 2-1-1 in conference play with the win, which also put them at 3-0-1 away from home. They will put that streak to the test again on Wednesday when they visit Culver-Stockton for a 7:30 pm kickoff at Poulton Stadium in Canton, Mo.
The Pirates out-shot the Mustangs, 14-12, but Mount Mercy put eight of those on-frame compared to five for Park. Both Mustang goals came less than two minutes apart in the first half, the first came from Ivano Carrieri then Keita Karasawa. It was enough as Alejandro Cuende made five saves to record a clean sheet for Mount Mercy.
