Mustangs Drop First Match of the Season to Judson

ELGIN, Ill. - A goal with eight seconds remaining was enough to lift Judson past Mount Mercy on Wednesday, handing the Mustangs their first loss of the season by a score of 3-2.

Judson got the scoring started in the first 10 minutes of the contest, as Lennyn Soriano scored unassisted to give the Eagles the early one goal lead. Ilija Kosoric was able to tie the game up in the 23rd minute coming off of an assist from Keita Karasawa. The tie wouldn't last long, as Gabriel Uno took a pass from Matheus Duarte Torres to give Judson the lead back, as the Eagles would maintain a lead heading into the break.

Most of the second half would see no scoring, as Leonardo Franco scored off a pass from Karasawa in the 85th minute, giving the Mustangs a late game equalizer. Judson, however, would score as Torres put the ball past the Mustang keeper with eight seconds to play as Judson got the late edge.

The Mustangs dropped their first matchup of the season after outscoring their opponents 17-0 through the first two matchups of the season. The squad will next compete at home against St. Ambrose on Tuesday with kickoff slated for 7 p.m.
