Mustangs Stumble Against Ravens

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A first half goal from Benedictine was enough to sink the Mustangs, as BC was able to take down Mount Mercy by a score of 1-0.

Manuel Abello took a free kick from Diego Acuna and put it past the Mustang keeper in the first half to score the game's only goal, on what would be Benedictine's only shot on goal in the contest. BC would record six total shots compared to the Mustangs' nine, of which three were on target.

The game was physical throughout, as the two teams were whistled for a combined 34 fouls, 16 by Benedictine and 18 from Mount Mercy. The Mustangs would end the game with an 8-1 edge in corner kicks.

The Mustangs will next compete at home against William Penn next Saturday for homecoming, with kickoff slated for 3:30.
