Mustangs Open 2025 Competing at the Bumble Rumble
DAVENPORT, Iowa – Mount Mercy's mens track and field team demonstrated their competitive edge at the Bumble Rumble 2025, hosted by St. Ambrose University on January 18 at the Wellness & Recreation Center. Facing a robust lineup of collegiate competitors, the Mustangs delivered solid results across multiple events.
Nate Keiper led the Mustangs in the 200-meter dash, clocking an impressive 23.07 seconds to finish 12th in a competitive field. In the 600-meter run, Ryan Mitchell paced the team with a time of 1:26.08, securing a top-10 placement.
The men's shot put featured a standout performance from Omar Salinas, who placed 15th with a throw of 13.24 meters. Teammate Nate Jones followed closely with a mark of 12.93 meters to claim 18th.
Oscar Nielsen contributed to Mount Mercy's success in the high jump, tying for fifth place with a clearance of 1.73 meters. Cole Eberly matched Nielsen's height, further solidifying Mount Mercy's presence in the event.
The men's 4x400 meter relay team closed the meet with a ninth-place finish, recording a time of 3:40.07. Their performance underscored the Mustangs' commitment to teamwork and perseverance.
The Mustangs will return to competition at the Cyclone Open in Ames, Iowa, on January 24th. The meet's start time will be announced at a later date.
