Thompson Earns B Qualifying Mark at Cyclone Open

AMES, Iowa - The Mustang men's indoor track team opened the weekend at the Cyclone Open as Keegan Thompson earned a qualifying mark in the 60 meter dash.

Thompson qualified with an NAIA "B" mark in the 60 meters, clocking a finals time of 6.81, which was good enough to finish first in the event, surpassing a trio of NCAA Division I runners. Thompson would improve his time by .13 seconds from his qualifying round. Thompson would also finish fourth in the 200 meter final, clocking a time of 21.88.

In the 600 yard final, Jordan Schroeder clocked a third place time of 1:13.04, finishing less than a second behind second place. Fellow teammate Baylor Speidel would enjoy a successful day on the track, finishing sixth in the 60 meters with a teme of 7.01, nearly equaling his time from his qualifying mark. Speidel would also place 10th in the 200 meter final with a time of 22.36.

The Mustangs will return to the track on Saturday, taking part in the Hilltop Invite hosted by Cornell College in Mount Vernon.
