Adams, Valenzuela Crush School Records at CMU Invite

FAYETTE, Mo. - Mount Mercy's men's outdoor track and field team saw two runners crush the school's record in three events while competing at the Central Methodist Invite on March 28-29. 

Ceondae Adams broke the school's record in two events. In the 110m hurdles, Adams demolished the previous record by .50 seconds after running the event in 14.04 and finishing second overall while. Adams beat the "A" standard and qualified for nationals later this season and is currently second in the nation for the event.

In the 100m dash, Adams set a new school record for the event after completing the event with a time of 10.41, taking second place in the event. Adams is ranked third in the nation for the 100m dash. 

Noah Valenzuela broke the school's record in the 400m race, completing the event at a time of 48.45 with a sixth-place finish overall and crushing the previous record by 0.65 seconds. 

In the field events, the Mustangs saw top finishes as well. Omar Salinas finished seventh overall in the hammer throw with a toss of 43.30m while finishing sixth in the shot put at 14.51m. Nate Jones contributed to the Mustangs' success, finishing eighth in the hammer throw at 39.10m and eighth in discus at 37.88m. 

Mount Mercy will be back in action on April 5 as they compete at the Cornell Invitational.
