Mustangs Compete in Distance Events on Day One of Kip Janvrin Invite

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Mount Mercy's men's track and field team was in action Thursday at the Kip Janvrin Invite, hosted by Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa.

In the 1,500-meter race, Brady Cortez paced the Mustangs with a 25th-place finish in 4:02.88. Dylan Bledsoe followed in 41st at 4:07.32, while Jonathon Williams placed 58th with a time of 4:13.41.

Lukas Lamparek led Mount Mercy in the 5,000 meters, placing 34th overall in 15:25.06. Quinn Swift came in 58th at 15:46.21.

Mount Mercy returns to competition Friday as athletes are set to compete in dual meets — day three of the Drake Relays in Des Moines and day two of the Kip Janvrin Invite in Indianola.
