Mount Mercy Excels at Mustang Distance Carnival
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Mount Mercy delivered a strong performance at the Mustang Distance Carnival & Open, highlighted by Jack Stamp's victory in the men's 1500 meters and Luke Czarnecki's first-place finish in the high jump, while Baylor Speidel secured second in the men's 100 meters.
Baylor Speidel secured second place in the Men's 100 Meters Finals with a time of 10.80. Speidel also claimed third in the Men's 200 Meters, clocking 22.02. In the Men's 400 Meters, Noah Valenzuela finished second with a time of 48.95.
Trevor Leitheiser placed 11th in the Men's 800 Meters, completing the event in 2:01.07.
Jack Stamp won the Men's 1500 Meters with a time of 4:08.39, while Seth Countryman finished fourth in 4:20.62. In the Men's 5000 Meters, Noah Gregoire placed fourth, finishing in 14:53.76.
In the Men's 110 Hurdles Preliminaries, Levi Wilson-Bries finished 12th with a time of 16.44.
Luke Czarnecki won the Men's High Jump with a mark of 2.01m. Czarnecki also secured third place in the Men's Pole Vault with a clearance of 4.35m.
Omar Salinas achieved sixth place in the Men's Shot Put with a distance of 13.62m. In the Men's Javelin, Owen McBride took third with a throw of 50.80m.
Looking ahead, the Mustangs will host the Debacker Invitational on Saturday, April 18th, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
