Balanced Mustangs sweep Lakers

CHICAGO -- Fifteenth-ranked Mount Mercy used a balanced attack to hit .414 and defeated Roosevelt, 25-15, 25-17, 25-18, in a non-conference men's volleyball match at the Goodman Center for their third sweep in as many matches to start the season.

Colin Castelnau had a team-high eight kills while hitting .727 for the match. Akeel Oxley, Raphael Massara, and Johann Schopsdau added seven kills each. Rafael Vieyra dished 31 assists and Bo Brainerd had three blocks. Castelnau, Schopsdau, and Douglas Fofano collected six digs apiece.

The Mustangs (3-0) are back at home for their next two matches, beginning with Morningside (3-1) on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Hennessey Recreation Center. Mount Mercy hosts Viterbo on Tuesday at 6:00 pm.
