Dominant Mustangs Clip Eagles in Straight Sets

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Mount Mercy's men's volleyball team delivered a dominant sweep over the Judson Eagles on Tuesday night at Hennessey Recreation Center. The Mustangs controlled the momentum of the match, securing their victory with set scores of 25-16, 25-18, and 25-13.

Right from the start, the Mustangs showcased their offensive talent. In the first set, they took a commanding 19-9 lead over the Eagles and went on to claim the set 25-16 after recording 13 kills with a .375 hitting percentage. The second set followed a similar pattern, with the Mustangs securing a 25-18 win to extend their match lead to 2-0. In the final set, Mount Mercy displayed its offensive power, out-hitting the Eagles with 17 kills and a .448 hitting percentage while holding Judson to a .037 clip.

Gabor Toth led the Mustangs' attack with nine kills on 17 attempts for a .529 hitting percentage while also tallying nine digs. Raphael Massara and Pere Font Torres contributed seven kills each. Gustavo Bauer directed the offense with 26 assists and nine digs, while Richard Struska anchored the defense with 17 digs.

The Eagles were led by Mason Snodgrass, who recorded 11 kills and a .212 hitting percentage. Grant Shipley and Jacob Smith added five kills apiece, while Elijah Wrobel guided Judson's offensive effort with 24 assists.

The Mustangs will return to action on February 11 as they travel to face the Statesmen of William Penn, with first serve scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
