Mustangs Compete at the NAIA National Championships
COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mount Mercy men's cross country team wrapped up their 2024 season with a 33rd-place finish at the NAIA National Cross Country Championships.
Ryan Clancy led the Mustangs, finishing in 116th place with a time of 25:15.8. Lukas Lamparek followed closely behind in 213th place, clocking in at 25:56.8. Rounding out the top five for the Mustangs were Ryan Mitchell (249th, 26:32.2), Dylan Bledsoe (266th, 26:33.9), and Jonathan Williams (284th, 26:57.4).
The College of Idaho claimed the national title with a total of 87 points, edging out Milligan, who finished second with 96 points. The top five teams were completed by Cumberlands (155 points) in third, The Master's (189) in fourth, and Indiana Wesleyan (253) in fifth.
Evert Silva from Oklahoma City University earned the individual national championship, completing the 8k course in 23:14.0.
The men's cross country team will be honored for their accomplishments this season during halftime of the Mount Mercy men's basketball game on Saturday, November 23rd.
