Trio of Mustangs Earn All-Conference Honors
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - A trio of Mustang softball players earned all-conference honors, as voted on by the league coaches.
Calli Janik ended her storied career with a first team all-conference nod. Janik hit .356 on the season with seven home runs and 40 RBIs. Her career best 18 doubles on the season set a new school record for doubles in a career, now at 54, surpassing the previous record of 52. Janik appeared in 48 games on the year, appearing in 189 over the course of her career.
Ashley Smith ended her Mustang career with a second team honor. Smith tallied five doubles on the season and hit a career best .352 batting average, recording 22 RBIs with three triples. Her slugging percentage was also a career best at .418.
Ashley Webb ended her second season with honorable mention honors. Webb would earn 10 wins in the circle while pitching 145 innings and striking out 137. Webb would also set a new career high with 15 strikeouts against Benedictine in the regular season.
Webb would also earn gold glove honors from the conference, registering a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with 26 assists and a pair of double plays.
