Bio

Hop joined the Mount Mercy coaching staff in the fall of 2020 as the graduate assistant coach after completing four years of competition for the Mustang softball team. Knowing she wanted to coach, Hop gained experience playing various positions for the Mustangs. Her first year on the coaching staff was one to remember as the team went 38-17 while winning the Heart of America tournament title and finishing fifth at the NAIA World Series in 2021. Hop returned as a full-time assistant coach in 2021-22, helping Mount Mercy to a 35-19 mark. In 2023 as the associate head coach and pitching coach, she pushed the Mustangs to another NAIA national tournament berth and was named the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) NAIA Assistant Coach of the Year.

Hop is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Mount Mercy with a double major in marketing and management and a minor in psychology. She was also on the executive board for various clubs and after earning her undergraduate degree, Hop attained a Master of Business Administration from the university. For the past six years, Hop has coached at Iowa City West High School and assisted in coaching youth travel teams, specifically the Renegades out of North Liberty, one of the largest youth organizations in Iowa.
