LAMONI, Iowa - The Mount Mercy women's basketball team secured a dominating victory over the Graceland Yellowjackets with a final score of 93-66, after leading by 31 points just after the start of the fourth quarter.
Claudia Vanzant led the Mustangs offensively, sinking 9-13 field goals to total 18 points while grabbing seven rebounds. Sam Kiel was close behind Vanzant with 13 points on 5-7 shooting, going a perfect 2-2 from the line.
Isabel Wallschlaeger, Malie Marfil, and Sadie Struchen each ended the game with 12 points. As a team, the Mustangs shot an impressive 38-69 from the field for a 55.1 shooting percentage while also grabbing 41 boards and 18 assists.
Sariah Bradley led the Yellowjacket offense with 15 points on 6-10 shooting, with Kayloni Smolley adding 14 points, going 6-12 from the field. The Yellowjackets were held to a 42.4 shooting percentage and managed to grab 21 rebounds.
The Mustangs will travel to face off against Missouri Valley on Saturday, December 7th, with tip-off set for 12:00 pm.
