Aminuddin, Diercks nab NCBCA honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- For the second time in three years, Ayra Nur Jehan Aminuddin was named a first-team all-American while Andy Diercks was honored as the Kerm Helmer Women's Coach of the Year when the National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association (NCBCA) announced the 2021-22 awards on Wednesday.

Aminuddin was also runner-up for the Storm/International Bowling Media Association (IBMA) Bowler of the Year award for the second time. She posted a 203.6 average in 11 events this season and led the Mustang women's bowling program to a ? overall ranking and a spot in the Intercollegiate Team Championships this week at Stardust Bowl. Aminuddin had a better than 90 percent win percentage in every tournament as well.

Diercks once again led a powerful women's squad to one of the best seasons in school history to claim his third consecutive Coach of the Year award. The Mustangs were ranked in the top two nationally in the USBC Collegiate Bowling online team ranking system throughout the year and advanced to this week's Intercollegiate Team Championships. A pair of his bowlers -- women's standout Elena Carr and men's bowler Kai Yamada -- also reached the Intercollegiate Singles Championships.
