Abdul Jalil Tops All-Tournament Team on Day One

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The women's bowling team led wire-to-wire on day one of the Leatherneck Classic, ending with a total pin count of 5098. 

Nada Abdul Jalil highlighted the All-Tournament team, ending in first place. Elena Carr led the team in game one, bowling a score of 223, as Jaelle Hamman joined her in the 200s at 204. Four Mustangs would bowl in the 200s in game two, highlighted by Abdul Jalil who topped the team in the second game at 233. Carr and Hamman would be right behind her with scores of 225 and 224 respectively.

In game three, Carr was dominant, bowling a score of 256, as Abdul Jalil would be the only other Mustang in the 200s with a 202. It was Abdul Jalil's turn to be a monster on the lanes in game four, recording a tournament high 279 to lead the way as Hamman and Brooke Salzman would record scores of 225. In game five, Salzman led the Mustangs with a 201.

Two other Mustangs finished in the top ten, as Salzman and Hamman joined Abdul Jalil in the top ten of individual bowlers on day one. The tournament will continue on Sunday with day two.
