Mustangs Win Second Straight Tournament at BPA Kegel Midwest Classic

ADDISON, Ill. - The Mustang women's bowling team secured their second straight tournament victory, taking home the top spot at the BPA Kegel Midwest Collegiate Classic.

During qualifying, the Mustangs went back-and-forth with SCAD Savannah to claim the top spot, with the Mustangs having held the top spot in games two and five, while SCAD would hold the top spot in games three and four. At the end of the fifth qualifying game, the Mustangs would hold off SCAD Savannah by 116 pins to secure the top spot heading into baker games. After baker games, the Mustangs would run through the competition to secure their second straight win.

Nada Abdul Jalil took home the top spot on the Mustangs, finishing in 12th overall. Abdul Jalil would bowl a tournament high 236 in game five to earn a total pin count of 1022. Brooke Salzman would not be far behind her at a total pin count of 1000, having two games above 220. Jaelle Hamman would be the third Mustang in the top-20, finishing just one pin behind Salzman at 999. Like Abdul Jalil, Hamman would bowl a tournament high in her fifth game at a 247.

The Mustangs look to take home the top spot at a third straight tournament at the Kohawk Invite in Cedar Rapids next weekend.
