Mustangs Dominate Five Seasons Classic
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Mount Mercy University delivered a commanding performance at the Five Seasons Classic, sweeping the field to claim the tournament title with an 8,773 total pinfall and an unblemished 10-0 match record. The Mustangs showcased remarkable consistency across qualifying and baker play, outpacing runner-up Coe College by more than 700 pins.
Leading the charge, senior standout Tori Franklin topped all individual bowlers with a 1,078 five-game series and a 215.6 average. Teammate Nada Nawwarah Abdul Jalil followed closely in second, rolling a 1,063 set with a high game of 246. Additional scoring depth came from Savannah Dickson and Gracie French, each maintaining averages near 190 and 205, respectively.
Mount Mercy's junior varsity squads added to the program's success, finishing first and second in the JV division. The sweep underscored the Mustangs' program depth and solidified their standing as one of the premier teams in collegiate women's bowling.
The Mustangs next hit the lanes next weekend at the Leatherneck Classic in Illinois.
