Wildcats overrun Mustangs

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Baker scored less than 30 seconds into the match, put three marks on the board in each half, and cruised to a 6-0 victory over Mount Mercy in a Heart of America Athletic Conference women's soccer match on Saturday afternoon at Hadzic Field.

Melissa Siegel (1' 29') scored twice and assisted another while Lydia Brinker (10'), Anna Chieu (70'), Jorja Martin (83'), and Maya Hodison (84') recorded goals for the Wildcats (8-4-1, 4-3-1 Heart). Baker took 15 shots, including 10 on goal, while Mount Mercy fired off seven shots and put three on frame. Goalkeeper Grace Byers had four saves for the Mustangs (2-8-1, 0-7-1 Heart).

Mount Mercy has four regular season matches remaining, and three of them are on the road. The Mustangs travel to Oskaloosa for a Heart of America match on Tuesday at 5:00 pm, then head to Springfield, Mo., on Saturday for another league match against Evangel at noon.
