OLATHE, Kan. -- MidAmerica Nazarene scored four times in the first half and limited Mount Mercy to a pair of shots in the match as the Mustangs dropped a 6-1 decision to the Pioneers in a Heart of America Athletic Conference women's soccer match on Saturday.
Miran Sakai's third goal of the season came in the 70th minute and was Mount Mercy's only shot on-frame at Pioneer Field. That came after six consecutive scores by MidAmerica Nazarene to start the match. The Pioneers (4-2-0, 1-1-0 Heart) tallied 25 total shots and 14 on-goal, seven of which were stopped by the Mustangs' Grace Byers.
Mount Mercy (1-2-1, 0-2-0 Heart) goes to Mount Pleasant on Wednesday for their final non-conference match of the season. The Mustangs square off with Iowa Wesleyan at 7:00 pm at East Lake Park.
