Mustang Throwers Compete at Penultimate Qualifier

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Mount Mercy's women's outdoor track and field team had a group of throwers compete Friday at the Penultimate Qualifier, hosted by Augustana College.

In the discus throw, Ava Conrad led the Mustangs with a toss of 44.09 meters, placing eighth overall. Alyssa Striegel followed in 11th with a throw of 42.03 meters, Grace Kelley finished 13th at 40.02 meters, and Natalie DeFord rounded out the Mustangs in 18th with 36.74 meters.

Striegel led the Mustangs in the hammer throw with a mark of 41.19 meters, placing ninth overall. Kelley followed in 15th with a throw of 36.00 meters.

In the shot put, Striegel again paced the Mustangs, finishing 10th at 10.50 meters. Kelley matched that mark and secured 11th place.
