Mustangs Secure Victories in Pole Vault and Javelin at Rittgers Invite
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Mount Mercy University secured standout performances at the Rittgers Invitational at Coe College, highlighted by Carla Santos winning the pole vault with a mark of 3.15 meters and Miyah Fox claiming victory in the javelin with a throw of 39.03 meters.
Sprints
Skylar Palmgren took 6th in the 200 Meters with a time of 26.31, while Brooklyn Johnson finished 7th at 26.38. Gralynn Martin came in 16th with 27.81. In the 400 Meters, Catie Reittinger placed 3rd with a time of 1:00.16, Ashlie Kascel was 5th at 1:05.08, and Esther Oyunge finished 7th with 1:06.75.
Middle Distance
In the 1500 Meters, Maria Dudzik finished 4th with a time of 5:11.05, followed closely by Cora McArtor in 5th at 5:12.01. Emma Althoff placed 7th with 5:15.30, Olivia Norrish was 8th at 5:26.30, and Annabelle Neal took 11th with 5:37.37.
Hurdles
Danielle Dimmings finished 6th in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 16.18 and also took 6th in the 400 Hurdles with 1:10.82.
Throws
In the Shot Put, Claire Geerts finished 10th with a mark of 10.75m, and Kylie Smither was 11th with 10.74m. In the Discus, Natalie DeFord placed 7th with 35.17m, while Savannah Slobodnik was 8th at 34.91m. DeFord also placed 5th in the Hammer with a throw of 44.24m, and Slobodnik took 8th with 40.92m. Fox won the Javelin with a throw of 39.03m, while Dayna Maiers finished 3rd at 27.56m.
