Mustangs Sweep the Bobcats 3-0 in a Conference Battle
PERU, Neb. | The Mustangs dominated the conference matchup against the Peru State Bobcats in a 3-0 sweep, 26-24, 25-22, and 25-12.
The Mustangs gained an early lead in set one after recording a .240 hitting percentage with 19 kills to open the match. Despite a slow second set as the Mustangs recorded nine kills and a .073 hitting percentage, the Mustangs retained the momentum in set three to take the match in a three-set sweep over the Bobcats.
Offensively, Jenna Brown led the Mustangs with nine kills and a .227 hitting percentage, followed by teammates Mary Kate Bendlage with eight kills and a .081 hitting percentage and Ellie Gerdes recording seven kills with a .545 hitting percentage. Hailey Hested recorded 34 assists and ten digs, with Rylie Mussman adding 24 digs.
Raevyn Russel led the Bobcats with seven kills and a .037 hitting percentage. Following Russel were teammates, Eden Moore and Addison Schneider, as each recorded six kills with a .250 hitting percentage.
The Mustangs will be back in action on Saturday, September 28th, as they travel to face off with the Graceland Yellowjackets, with first serve at 10:30 AM CDT.
