CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa | After falling in set one, the Mustangs battled back to win the next three sets to defeat Missouri Valley College 3-1.
In set one, Missouri Valley held the Mustangs to seven kills with a .000 hitting percentage with a set score of 25-18. The Mustangs would bounce back to take set two 25-22 after recording 14 kills and a .184 hitting percentage. Set three would soon go the Mustangs with scores of 25-20 off of 15 team kills. Mustangs would close out the match after winning set four 25-15, after having an outstanding .519 hitting percentage.
Mary Kate Bendlage led the Mustangs offense with 16 kills and a .115 hitting percentage. Jenna Brown was not far behind, with 15 kills and a .289 hitting percentage. Hailey Hested would end the match with 47 assists and eight digs, with Rylie Mussman adding 27 digs.
Ana Oro led Missouri Valley offensively with 13 kills and a.189 hitting percentage, with Paige Siebert recording 20 assists.
