Mustangs Wrap Up 2024 Season at the NAIA National Championships

COLUMBIA, Mo. - After a 27th place finish at the NAIA National Cross Country Championships, the Mount Mercy women's cross country wraps up their 2024 season. 

Kalin Rotzoll was the top finisher for the Mustangs with a time of 23:00.4, placing 129th overall, with teammate Abby Knepper following, placing 155th at 23:14.2. Rounding out the top five for the Mustangs were Emma Althoff (195, 23:36.4), Kayla Overton (213, 23:47.8) and Kendall Orozco (168, 23:56.3). 

Jaynie Halterman from Taylor won the individual national championship title after finishing with a time of 20:24.7.

The Master's took home the national championship title after nudging past Taylor by one point, 92-93. Closing out the top five teams were St. Mary (125 points) in third, Milligan (129) in fourth, and Montreat (176) in fifth. 

The women's cross country team will be recognized for their achievements this past season during halftime of the Mount Mercy men's basketball game on Saturday, November 22nd.
