Wildcats edge Mustangs in Heart road matchup

CANTON, Mo. -- Ryan Bartley, Rusmir Hamzic, and Jaxson Fried combined for 58 points but it wasn't enough as Culver-Stockton held off Mount Mercy, 88-83, in Wednesday night's Heart of America Athletic Conference men's basketball game at Charles Field House.

Bartley poured in a game-high 31 points to move into 10th place on Mount Mercy's career scoring list with 1,326 points. He was also one of four Mustangs with five rebounds against the Wildcats. Hamzic added 14 points, five boards, and four assists. Fried finished with 13 points, Anthony Horton, Jr. chipped in nine points, five rebounds, and four dimes.

Five Wildcats hit double figures, led by Tai Walters-Whitake with 18 points. CaRondis Harris-Anderson scored 14 points off the bench. Seth Larson tallied 13 points, Connor Davis 12, and Robert Fry II 10. Davis also grabbed a game-high seven boards and seven assists.

Two regular season games remain for Mount Mercy (7-19, 6-16 Heart). The Mustangs go to Atchison, Kan., for a Saturday tip-off against Benedictine at 2:00 pm at Ralph Nolan Gymnasium
