PARKVILLE, Mo. -- Third-seeded Park eliminated sixth-seeded Mount Mercy from the Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Volleyball Championship on Saturday, sweeping the Mustangs, 25-21, 25-18, 25-19 at Breckon Sports Center.
The Pirates (22-6) advance to the Heart semifinals against second-seeded William Penn (21-5) on Wednesday. Top-seeded Grand View (20-6) hosts fourth-seeded Missouri Valley (20-5) or fifth-seeded Missouri Baptist (22-7), also on Wednesday night. The Vikings and Spartans play on Saturday night in Marshall, Mo.
Akeel Oxley had a team-high 13 kills, Colin Castelnau added five kills and Bo Brainerd and Brian Lynch four apiece. Rafael Vieyra finished with 27 assists and Lynch had a team-best seven digs. Raphael Massara tallied three blocks for the Mustangs (24-8).
