PARKVILLE, Mo. -- Madison Dreckman poured in a game-high 26 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer with just over a minute to go as the Mount Mercy women's basketball team pushed their winning streak to seven games with a 59-57 victory over Park on Saturday afternoon at Breckon Sports Center.
The win over the Pirates was a bit of a departure for the Mustangs, who have averaged better than 83 points per game during their current win streak. Mount Mercy was well under that on Saturday but still got the job done. They are 5-0 on the road and 2-0 at home since a loss to 22nd-ranked Grand View on Jan. 15.
Dreckman was the lone Mustang in double figures against Park and finished with a double-double that included 26 points and 10 rebounds. She also moved to within seven points of 1,000 during her Mount Mercy career. Madison Skelton and Sadie Struchen tallied six points each.
Angel Wiggins led the Pirates (10-12, 7-11 Heart) with 19 points, Emma Perry chipped in 12. Nevaeh Spillman pulled down 11 rebounds, Makayla Artis nine.
The Mustangs (15-7, 13-6 Heart) will get their strongest test yet on Wednesday when fifth-ranked Clarke (21-1, 17-1 Heart) visits Hennessey Rec Center for a 5:30 pm tip.
