ATCHISON, Kan. -- The Mount Mercy women's basketball team dropped a 67-60 road contest at Benedictine on Saturday and will be the No. 5 seed in the Heart of America Athletic Conference women's basketball tournament when it begins on Feb. 28.
The Ravens (18-8, 16-6 Heart) led by eight points after one quarter and by five at halftime on Saturday at Ralph Nolan Gymnasium, then held off the Mustangs down the stretch to secure the win. Mount Mercy (16-10, 14-9 Heart) has one regular season game remaining as they host Central Methodist (13-13, 10-12 Heart) on Senior Day this Saturday at 2:00 pm at Hennessey Recreation Center.
Madison Dreckman's double-double included 23 points and 12 rebounds for the Mustangs. Annika Headington added nine points, nine boards, and four assists. Malie Marfil, Anais Bonnemaison, and Karlie Krogman chipped in six points each.
Three Ravens hit double figures, led by Lauryn Dubbert's 14 points. Aaliyah Raines and Jennifer Jacobs tallied 11 points and five rebounds apiece. Alleigh Kramer finished with nine points, six boards, and a game-high five assists.
